Elevate Your Experience
We understand that coffee is not just a beverage; it’s an experience, a journey into the heart of authenticity and craftsmanship. We’re committed to a quality that extends beyond the ordinary, promising an experience that transcends the realms of mere consumption.
Crafted with Precision
Our coffee journey begins with the cultivation of SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varieties in the nutrient-rich soils of the Central Highlands. Small-scale farmers, deeply rooted in their craft, handpick each coffee cherry with care, ensuring only the finest beans make it to your cup.
Sustainability at Every Step
Fully washed and processed using the Natural Traditional Method, our beans undergo a journey of sustainability. We prioritize ethical farming practices, fostering a community-driven harvest that not only respects the environment but also ensures the livelihoods of our local farmers.
Roasted in Kenya, Rooted in Tradition
To ensure the preservation of the distinct flavours of our Central Highlands beans, Mzawa Coffee is proudly roasted in Kenya. This approach preserves the unique characteristics of each coffee variety, delivering a cup that embodies the essence of its origin.
Beyond Product to Experience
Mzawa Coffee transcends the ordinary to offer an experience that stimulates the senses and captivates the soul. With each sip, you embark on a sensory journey, embracing the rich flavours and enchanting aromas that only authentic Kenyan Arabica coffee can provide.

A few words from the people drinking our coffee every morning.
★★★★★
“The washed coffee has the smoothest finish I’ve had from a Kenyan roast — citrusy, never bitter. It’s now a permanent fixture on my counter.”
★★★★★
“Ordered the Kaptola Co-Operative blend on a whim and it’s become my Saturday morning ritual. You can taste the care that went into it.”
★★★★★
“Loved learning the story behind the beans almost as much as the coffee itself — and it tastes even better knowing who grew it.”
Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
Where does Mzawa coffee come from?
Every bean is grown by small-scale farmers in Kenya’s Central Highlands, at altitudes exceeding 1,600 metres above sea level, then hand-picked and roasted right here in Kenya.
What’s the difference between your processing methods?
Our Washed Coffee is fully washed using the Natural Traditional Method for a clean, citrus-forward cup. Our Experimental lots explore new fermentation and drying techniques on the same Central Highlands beans for more adventurous flavour profiles. We also curate loose leaf teas alongside our coffee.
Do you ship outside Kenya?
Right now we ship within Kenya only, with free shipping on every order. We’re working on bringing Mzawa Blends further afield — watch this space.
Can I get my coffee delivered on a schedule?
Yes — our coffee subscription lets you set up recurring deliveries so you never run out.
How should I store my coffee for the best flavour?
Keep your beans in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture, and try to brew within a few weeks of the roast date for the best flavour.
